Science

The Science curriculum at Offord Primary is designed to fosters a healthy curiosity in children about our universe and promote a respect for the living and non-living things. We believe science encompasses the acquisition of knowledge, concepts, skills and positive attitudes.

We understand that it is important for lessons to have a skills-based focus, and that the knowledge can be taught through these skills. At Offord Primary School, we encourage children to be inquisitive throughout their time at the school and beyond leaving at Year 6 with a wealth of knowledge and skills that can be applied to their lives and lessons of the future.

The science curriculum is designed for knowledge and skills to be revisited and developed in a two-year rolling programme. Science is taught through a range of means that include practical experiments and talks and visits from experts in order to gain an well- rounded undertsanding of the world we live in.
